Local grow op busts a rarity these days

Is it the end of the illegal marijuana grow-op era in our region?

RCMP reports of pot-busts have become the rarity these days rather than the norm.

Cpl Darryl Orr says they’ve worked hard to eradicate them in the last decade but also some tips they get lead them to medical grow-ops that are still currently legal.

He figures once commercial-scale licenced medical operations start we may see a further decline.


Orr was speaking after RCMP uncovered a 77-plant illegal outdoor grow-op in a rural Castlegar location Wednesday.
