An extraordinary incident at Nelson court Monday morning.
Andrew Stevenson the co-accused in the rash of armed robberies in our area attempted to escape.
Authorities aren’t saying much but we have learned that Stevenson – who appeared to still be injured after his arrest in April – dropped his crutches and ran. A sheriff nabbed him.
Here’s Nelson Police deputy chief Paul Burkart.
Stevenson made his first court appearance only last week and was set for another hearing today.
Last week the judge rejected his lawyer’s bail request based on how that might effect the confidence of the public.
