Nelson police wrap

Nelson police are looking for the person who went on a big vehicle crime spree last week.

Valuables and change was stolen from no fewer than 12 unlocked cars Wednesday night in Fairview.

Police are reminding the public these thefts likely would have been prevented had the vehicles been locked.

In a separate matter police were called to an Uphill home Friday night with 75 under age party-goers spilling into the yard and then onto the streets.

An injured and severely intoxicated youth also needed an ambulance.

The NPD is reminding residents that noise bylaw fines can range up to $2,000 and people effectively gate-crashing a home can result in mischief charges carrying heavy fines and even jail time.
