Trail Library/Museum referendum question set

There will definitely be a referendum regarding Trail’s proposed integrated Library/Museum on the November ballot.

The Silver City ‘s Corporate Administrator Michelle McIsaac says the Province’s Inspector of Municipalities has given approval.

She says it is unknown if the city will conduct an educational campaign leading up to the vote on the same level as the pedestrian pipe bridge – however the two institutions involved will be advocating in the community.

 

Residents will be asked if they’re in favor of the City of Trail borrowing about $6.2 million for the construction of an integrated museum and library.

That would mean a tax hike of around $81 for the owner of a $181,000 home.
