Alleged armed robber seeks bail 4 months after arrest

It has been over four months since the arrest of alleged local armed robber Andrew Stevenson and we still don’t know how he’s going to plead to a long list of charges.

A bail hearing set for Tuesday in Nelson court was postponed because of a technicality.

Judge Ron Fabbro has already dealt with police search warrants pertaining to this case so it’s inappropriate for him to handle the matter.

Stevenson’s bail hearing will now be in front of a different judge in Castlegar court Wednesday.

34 year old Stevenson was injured after his arrest April 25th and is still on crutches.

He’s charged in connection with two armed robberies in Nelson and one each in Robson and Castlegar.

His partner – 26 year old Krista Kalmikoff -is charged in connection with two of those. She has elected a trial by jury and so is expected to plead not guilty.
