Time to cut plug-in losses:Castlegar councillor

The City of Castlegar needs to cut its losses when it comes to the electric vehicle plug in charging station they won.

So says City councillor Deb McIntosh as staff have struggled to find a home for the device after the Mayor was awarded it at the Federation of Canadian Municipalities conference in 2012.

Due to high installation costs and lack of interest from local business owners – the station hasn’t been hooked up yet.

McIntosh says Council will hold off on any decisions until budget discussions.

The City already has plug-in sites near Kootenay Savings and at the Kalawsky dealership.
