Some rare good news for the cash-strapped Kootenay Columbia school district.
The Ministry of Education has passed on the entire million dollar proceeds of the recent sale of Rossland’s Maclean Elementary for various capital projects in the district.
Chair Darrel Ganzert says this is unusual and not just the speed of the ministry’s response.
The money will be earmarked to get the old lead pipes replaced at RSS so drinking water can be restored. Ganzert says some of it will also go to roof repairs at Stanley Humphries.
