More engineering studies/quotes in sewer crossing talks

The mayor of Warfield is hinting a negotiated agreement on funding a new pedestrian sewer pipe bridge over the Columbia River at Trail may involve finding a middle ground between rival quotes.

It’s no secret there’s mutual distrust between Trail, Rossland and Warfield over whose engineering estimates on crossing options are to be believed.

Rossland-Warfield wants the cheaper pipe alone under the Victoria Street bridge while Trail says a pedestrian crossing would not be that much more expensive.

Taxpayer dollars have already gone into a number of engineering studies in recent years and it looks like there’s more to come before meaningful talks get started.
