Castlegar wants recycling program fixes

The City of Castlegar will sit down with Multi Material BC after sending numerous letters of concern about the new recycling stewardship program.

Since the provincial initiative took over in May – Castlegar council has said it feels like they are taking a step backward when it comes to curbside recycling.

Councillor Dan Rye says they will be sharing some of their worries during the September 17th meeting.

 

Council has previously said they are using the financial incentives received from the province to sign up for the program just to cover a contractor to pick up glass – which is not included by MMBC.
