Coroner ID's victims of two recent accidents

The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of two people who lost their lives in separate incidents in our region in recent days .

The man who fell around 200-feet from the Bannock Point trail on Slocan Lake last Thursday was Nicholas Llewelyn-Smith.

The Australian went on a night hike and fell from the cliff.

Police say poor lighting, hazardous terrain and alcohol appear to have been factors.

Meanwhile the coroner has also identified the motorcyclist who died on the Salmo-Creston pass Friday afternoon.

He was William wells of Medicine Hat, Alberta.

Police say the 57 year old went into the gravel while taking a left curve then into the ditch before being thrown from the bike. He died at the scene.
