Trail’s regional rep is accusing partners Rossland and Warfield of being selective in what cost estimates they believe regarding a new sewer crossing.
Rossland’s starting point in negotiating a possible new pedestrian bridge is $2.7 million -because estimates suggest a pipe could be hung from the existing Victoria Street bridge for that.
Trail is asking for a shared $5.4 million investment – as per their cost estimates on a new bridge – and their regional rep Robert Cacchioni says any notion that the Victoria Street bridge option would cost only $2.7 million is “absurd.”

Cacchioni says the only estimate Rossland and Warfield trust is that cheaper $2.7 million and hopefully the city’s own detailed engineering study and quote will bring clarity to negotiations.
