Effectively immediately, the Emergency Room expansion project at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital in Trail will have impacts on parking and access. Interior Health (IH) has put out a notice to patients and visitors to the hospital about what they can expect.
The main entrance will remain open. To minimize the impact for individuals with mobility issues, a new patient drop off area is being created east of the hospital, which is a left at the top of Hospital Bench Road.
After consultation with the City of Trail, IH says overflow parking will be available on Hospital Bench Road. Â Signs will be put in place to mark areas where parking is permitted on the road.
Hospital traffic is also asked to pay attention and follow updated signage, follow direction from flaggers, and allow for additional time when parking. IH says they recognize the changes are an inconvenience and they will be trying to minimize impacts.
