Plane crashed after aborted landing:TSB

Investigators have a better idea of what happened Saturday evening when that light aircraft crashed next to Kokanee Springs golf course near Crawford Bay.

A female passenger died at the scene and the male pilot was seriously injured.

Bill Yearwood with the transportation safety board says the pilot was attempting a landing at the local airstrip.


Several people saw the incident and rushed to help even though the plane was burning.

Yearwood says they got the two people out before the aircraft was completely consumed by flames.
