A three-year agreement was ratified by the Board of Directors and employees at Heritage Credit Union and HG Insurance on Monday. It includes a six per cent increase over three years for 19 employees with the credit union and the 12 employees at HG Insurance.
CEO Georg Oberprieler says this round of negotiations is the first time in a number of years that third-party arbitration or mediation wasn’t required to reach a settlement. He says both sides were flexible and worked hard to find common ground.
United Steelworkers Union Local 1-405 represented the employees who are based in Castlegar and Slocan Park.
