The mayor of Trail is celebrating the result of Saturday’s referendum which saw a convincing “yes” vote for the pedestrian bridge idea.
Almost 80% of the near 2,000 people who voted were in favour of borrowing almost $5 million for the initiative.
Here’s Dieter Bogs.
1,565 said “yes” while 411 said “no”.
Turn-out was 35%.
Bogs says council and some residents worked hard at pushing the “yes” vote.
It’s now up to Trail,Rossland and Warfield to negotiate a deal on the sewer crossing with Trail paying for the pedestrian and extra utility components.
