Canada Post has confirmed they are considering closing the Salmo Post Office on Saturdays.
But spokesman Eugene Knapik says nothing has been decided yet.
He says there is minimal traffic at the post office Saturdays and if they close they will possibly extend hours on another weekday to compensate.
He says the nature of Canada Post’s business has changed and they’re looking to find efficiencies.
Concerns have been raised because many Salmo residents work out of town and can’t access the post office during normal weekday hours.
