Enhancing Nelson's food security through knowledge

The Nelson Food Cupboard figures it’s not the only social services in the community that will be able to benefit from a Gaps and Needs Study.

The analysis will involve all stakeholders connected to food in the region.

Project co-ordinator Marya Skrypiczajko -who works at the food cupboard- says part of the study will be a mapping of all current food security assets.


She adds the study and community consultations set for next month are not only about vulnerable populations who need to access food.

She says the wider production and growing community will be involved too.
