Early voter turn-out remains strong in Trail referendum

Another day of positive voting numbers for the referendum in Trail around the proposed pedestrian pipe bridge.

This from the city’s Chief Election Officer Michelle McIsaac who says 450 people showed up for the second day of advance voting Wednesday.

About 500 voted a week ago.

So about 950 – that’s 17% of Trail’s eligible 5,500 electors have now cast a ballot.

The public is being asked if the city should borrow almost $5-million to build a walkway on a sewer crossing the RDKB has to construct anyway.

That loan would be paid back with Trail’s annual Federal Gas Tax credits.
