The city of Castlegar is reacting to the CUPE local union decision to stop all overtime.
The union hopes that will pressure management to get back to mediated bargaining over stalled contract talks.
CAO John Malcolm says he’s getting mixed messages from the local.
Malcolm says he’s still waiting to hear from the union following the city’s final offer and says there’s no sense making other offers if the union refuses to respond.
The union-which represents 34 Castlegar civic workers – has issues with job security and wages.
The city say no jobs are threatened and the employees are very well paid.
