Trail RD rep allays bridge cost fears

The city of Trail will propose a deal on a regional sewer bridge over the Columbia River in an attempt to allay cost concerns from partners Rossland and Warfield.

This from Silver City councillor and Regional District rep Robert Cacchioni.

Rossland’s mayor has concerns about a $7.5 million quote but Cacchioni says that figure is a worst case scenario and $5.2 million is more realistic.

And he says they’re prepared to offer Rossland and Warfield a fixed cost on their shared portion before Trail adds its own elements such as a pedestrian crossing and extra utilities.


Rossland’s mayor says there has been no final negotiation on what sort of sewer crossing is the most cost-effective adding an under river pipe would cost only $3.4 million.
