Update: Fire on Rossland Avenue under investigation

Update: The cause of Friday’s fire in Trail is under investigation by RCMP. Kootenay Boundary Regional Fire Rescue say they responded to reports of a house explosion and structure fire at 459 Rossland Avenue. They arrived on scene at 12:47pm and had it under control at approximately 2:00pm. Highway 3B was closed for a number of hours. Two people were taken to hospital.

Highway 3B is closed in both directions this afternoon as crews tackle a structure fire.

DriveBC reports there is a detour near the Teck Fertilizer Plant.
