Local vodka wows international judges

The Slocan Valley’s very own distiller has made a pretty spirited start to his operation in Winlaw.

Kevin Goodwin from Kootenay Country Craft Distillery won a gold medal rating at the prestigious Beverage Tasting Institute in Chicago.

His Valhalla Vodka wowed the judges who described the taste as “toasty raisin bran and apricot granola with honeyed melon, cream, and delicate pepper finish.”


So exactly what is some of the magic content?


Goodwin says the main reasons for success is the local organic wheat and amazing Kootenay water.
