Local union rep agrees with $40 "daycare" survey

A new survey suggests most British Columbians reject the concept of the government paying $40 a day daycare to parents if the teachers remain on strike next month.

Insights west says 52% figure its a bad or very bad idea. Only 37% say it’s a very good, or good idea.

Kootenay Columbia Teachers Union President Andy Davidoff says it’s clear that money should be ploughed back into the underfunded system.


Closed door talks continue between the teachers union and government negotiators…and so far both sides have been respecting a media blackout.
