It looks like crews are in for the long haul in tackling the Slocan Park wildfire.
Information Officer Noelle Kekula says there’s still no containment on the 120-hectare blaze and the painstaking process of building helicopter landing areas continues.
Not until the heli-pads are in will crews be able to get hose lines in.
The fire behavior has improved slightly from a rank 3 to a rank 2 but Kekula says wind is in the forecast.
The Evacuation Alert remains in place.
60 ground crew and seven helicopters are working on the fire.
