Wildfire near Slocan Park showing stable behavior

The behavior of the wildfire burning close to Slocan Park remains pretty stable as the South East Fire Centre brings in plenty more personnel.


But Information Officer Jordan Turner says they’re taking every precaution.

The blaze is unpredictable and could change direction quickly.


60 new crew members are arriving today from the Coastal Fire Centre to work with two heavy helicopters and air tanker support.

The evacuation alert for almost 50 homes remains in effect.
