Trail’s Riverfront Centre Library/Museum opens April 2nd.
City councillor Robert Cacchioni says they’re planning a big event for the grand opening.
There’s also an event planned to thank the building’s sponsors and stakeholders April 6th.
Ground broke on the project in fall 2016.
Cacchioni says over 40,000 items have been moved to the new building.
The grand opening of the facility realizes a vision which was hatched by the city in the 1990s.
Cacchioni says the city first thought about merging the library and museum in 1995 but the idea didn’t gain public support.
The centre’s first business day is April 3, it will be closed to the public for the event April 6.
