Rossland’s mayor says city council is considering a ban on smoking and vaping in public places.
Mayor Kathy Moore says residents would still be allowed to smoke and vape on their private property.
She hopes this will help the city to give residents an idea as to where people are allowed to light up, especially with recreational cannabis use set to become legal in the summer.
She adds it’s important to not expose smoking and vaping to youth and hopes the decision would make the city healthier
She says they want to hear how the public feels about it before any decisions are made.
