Trail needs to learn how to say "no" to some grant requests:councillor

A Trail City Councillor believes they need to be more strict about their rental waiver policy.

Rick Georgetti is speaking after Council decided to waive 100% of the rental fees in requests from two community groups – despite their policy to waive only up to 50%.

We asked Georgetti if it is just a matter of Council saying “no” more often?

The City has an annual budget worth $35,000 to cover rental fees.

The two requests last week – from the Little League provincial championship host committee and the BC Seniors Association -total just over $2,000
