Castlegar needs bylaw amendments to accommodate pot legalization

The City of Castlegar is looking to prepare for the upcoming legalization of recreational pot.

Director of development services Phil Markin says there are a lot of factors the city needs to consider.

Markin says he’s heard a lot of requests from people looking to open dispensaries in Castlegar.

But he says such businesses won’t be allowed to set up in the city until cannabis is legal.
