A local politician says she’s heard complaints from a number of constituents regarding road conditions over the winter.
Kootenay West MLA Katrine Conroy agrees the weather has provided challenges for commuters
Conroy feels our highway’s conditions are about on par with previous years.
She adds local highway contractors have been doing a good job.
She says the Ministry of Transportation works very closely with YRB and Emcon Traffic Services.
Conroy says periods of heavy snow followed by freezing, then warm conditions have caused challenges for both commuters and highway contractors.
