Smoke Eaters tie Penticton, beat Merritt

The Trail Smoke Eaters continued their hot start to 2018 over the weekend.

Friday in Penticton the took the defending-champion Vees to a 2-2 tie.

In Trail Saturday they beat the Merritt Centennials 5-4.

Captian Troy Ring picked up a nice short-handed goal in the third period.

Smokies defender Ethan Martini says the team has been feeling pretty good as of late.

Trail is 5 points back of the Vernon Vipers for first place in the Interior Division.

A pair of Smoke Eaters have passed the 50-point mark.

Ross Armour is second in BCHL scoring at 53 points and linemate Kale Howarth is third with 51.
