It’s been a busy season for local highways contractor Emcon so far across the West Kootenay and Boundary.
Last year was especially strenuous between the Paulson Bridge landslide and flood season, but they’re constantly learning on the job.
Division Manager Ken Lawson says they’ve had to use some different materials.
Lawson apologized for any inconvenience in residential areas.
 They’ve recently started a Facebook page that’s received some mixed reactions.
He adds that expectations often exceed their specifications, but they often going beyond what is required.
Drivers are reminded to educate themselves online before travelling mountain passes, and to always expect changing weather conditions.
