Does Castlegar need a second arterial road?
The city will look into pricing for the potential secondary route.
Councillor Florio Vassilakakis says the idea has been brought up before.
Vassilakakis says it would be a very ambitious project as such a route would require property acquisitions and dealing with CP Rail crossings.
He wonders if the road would take away from the city’s efforts to revitalize downtown.
Back in 1993 the project identified for Woodland Drive would have carried a $1 million price tag.
Council should have a better idea as to how much the road would cost when they craft their budget for 2018.
