Nelson Hydro rates review

Nelson Hydro is reviewing it’s rates to ensure each category of customer is paying it’s fair share towards the total cost of running the utility.
As GM Alex Love explains, the total revenue doesn’t change – just the way the rates are distributed.
Love says for example a large debt on their power plant which was being borne by urban users has now been paid off so that could see a decrease for urban customers.
Adjustments are expected in the fall.
There will be a public consultation process before new rates start in April next year.
