The MLA for Kootenay West played a big role in the BC government’s announcement of funds to create new child care spaces across the province.
Children and Family Development Minister Katrine Conroy says the government is spending $33 million to assist in 103 projects and add over 3,800 child care spaces across the province.
This includes 535 spaces for indigenous communities.
Nelson’s School House Early Care and Learning Centre is the only daycare in our region to get a piece of the $33 million pie.
The Nelson daycare gets about $25,000 as one of more than 100 projects.
