Trail is one of six communities across the province that will host celebrations for the 40th anniversary of the BC Summer Games next year.
City councillor Sandy Santori was Trail’s mayor when the games came to our region in 1996.
Castlegar said yes and Santori says the ’96 games were very successful.
Trail also hosted the winter games in 1982 and 2006.
It hasn’t been decided exactly how they’ll mark the anniversary.
Other communities hosting celebrations are Abbotsford, Penticton, Nanaimo, Prince George and Terrace.
There will also be a big event to honour the games next October at the BC Sports Hall of Fame in Vancouver.
