Castlegar brothers recognized by BC Children’s Hospital

When young Ryder Squires was born doctors at BC Children’s Hospital didn’t know if the Castlegar boy would be able to walk, talk or hear.

But just last weekend the 5-year-old and his 8-year-old brother Jaxson have been recognized by that very same hospital.

They’ve been selling toys to raise funds for the hospital.

Jaxson hatched the idea because he wanted to help.

Father Rob says he’s very proud.

And young Ryder got a little more than he bargained for out of the trip.

The boys were presented with awards for their kindness and even got to meet Vancouver mayor Gregor Robertson.
