Part of Fortis BC’s old South Slocan facility will have a new lease on life at the new Kootenay Operations Centre in Ootischenia.
Spokeswoman Nicole Bogdanovich says a few beams will be put to use.
About 125 full time employees began working there last month.
The new centre is hoping to move to zero waste and has implemented a number of green-friendly initiatives.
