The BC SPCA’s new West Kootenay Community Animal Centre is scheduled to open in June.
Construction of the new 42-hundred square foot facility in Ootischenia recently began.
The facility’s price tag is estimated at $2.7 million.
It will feature designated areas for temperament and behaviour assessments for furry or feathered patients.
Last year the SPCA served over 1,100 abused, neglected, abandoned and injured animals in the West Kootenay.
