TMC prepared for hazardous emergency: deputy parks director

Our region’s ice rinks and arenas are safe.

This from Trail’s deputy parks and recreation director Robert Baker.

He says our facilities are termed “risk-assessed status”.

Three people died in Fernie Tuesday due to an ammonia leak at the arena.

TMC staff have since completed an impromptu inspection of the plant room to make sure there are no issues to deal with.

Baker says staff at the memorial centre are shaken up by the news.
