Bear destroyed after swim across Kootenay Lake

It was not quite what local boaters and restaurant patrons expected to see on Nelson’s lakeside Monday.
A bear had swum across Kootenay Lake from the North Shore and needed to be destroyed by Conservation Officer.
It went into a tree and that’s where it was destroyed.
It’s thought to be the juvenile bear the Conservation Officer had been looking-out for on the North Shore after it became habituated to human garbage.
