It’s now been three years since the fatal police shooting of Peter de Groot outside of Slocan City.
But BC’s Independent Investigations Office still hasn’t completed its report on the case.
Lawyer Don Sorochan, who represents de Groot’s family, says he doesn’t know what the hold up is.
But Sorochan doesn’t blame the IIO. He says they face challenges including staffing and not having their own forensics department.
The de Groot family has filed a civil suit against the RCMP.
