Students in the forest technology program at Selkirk College were able to take in a different ecosystem than they’re used to during a recent field trip to Merritt.
Instructor Carol Andrews says they studied grasslands with students, instructors and elders from the Nicola Valley Institute of Technology.
She says students learned about indigenous connections to the grasslands as well as its traditional uses, customs and historical perspectives.
