Woman rescued from Columbia River

A woman was pulled from the Columbia River in Trail overnight.

Kootenay Boundary Regional Fire Rescue crews responded to a call at 12:30 a.m. regarding a woman being swept down the river from the boat launch.

Fire chief Dan Derby says she was rescued just before 1 a.m. near Glenmerry.

Seven firefighters from Trail assisted with the rescue.
