Trails historic Union Hotel will be demolished in 2018.
The city has officially taken over ownership of the hotel as well as three adjacent properties to its immediate south.
Mayor Mike Martin says they’ll be securing the properties and preparing for demolition.
The city began negotiations to buy the properties in 2016.
They were sold for $125,000.
