Not every member of Rossland city council is in favour of keeping the staircase that connects LeRoi Avenue to Lower Rossland.
Councillor Lloyd McLellan says maintenance on the stairs costs too much and adds the city has spent a lot of money improving sidewalks.
The city looked into decomissioning the stairs but decided not to.
The staircase is estimated to have another five to ten years left in its lifespan.
