Quality of care vs bricks and mortar:IH boss

The man in charge of Interior Health does not see the immediate future of health care in our area as a site specific issue.
At the start of an annual tour of our region CEO Dr. Robert Halpenny faced the inevitable questions from reporters about big investments in KBRH in Trail and KLH in Nelson versus a long-term central site model.
 Halpenny says until new technologies come about  there will need to be continued investment in the two hospitals to ensure the needs of patients and staff are met.
He says the central site hospital question is worthy of looking at, but it’s a political issue to be left to politicians.
