Fortis is disappointed they won’t be buying the Waneta Dam and Generating Station from Teck Trail Operations.
Spokesman Michael Allison says they were aware of BC Hydro’s conditions when they proposed to buy it in May.
 Teck will pay Fortis a break fee of $28 million as per the purchase agreement.
BC Hydro is buying the remaining two-thirds share pending approval from the BC Utilities Commission.
