Fire destroys Bonnington home

Another wildfire near the Kootenay River.

A home on Thompson Rd in Bonnington burned down this morning and crews have been working to stop any spread.

Two helicopters, three RDCK fire departments with eight fire apparatus, and two BC Wildfire crews are fighting the fire.

The fire was reported as contained around lunch time and the RDCK reported there was no current need for evacuations.

Earlier this week multiple agencies tackled a wildfire at Beasley Bluffs.
