UPDATED: Teck and union agree on new CBA

Teck Trail Operations and its union have come to terms on a new collective bargaining agreement.
Teck spokeswoman Catherine Adair says the agreement covers 1,160 unionized employees with United Steelworkers locals 480 and 9705.
 The talks went to mediation and the union voted on the mediator’s recommendations this week.
Those recommendations include an extra $2,000 for their signing bonuses, which total $14,500.
There are also extra funds for their wellness accounts.
Meanwhile the president of United Steelworkers locals 4-80 says he’s happy they’ve agreed to a new collective bargaining agreement with Teck Trail Operations.
Armindo de Mediros says they negotiations were done in good faith and they accepted a mediator’s recommendations.
 The new CBA expires in five years.
